My research interest is matrix-vector multiplication using photonic integrated circuits. Matrix-vector multiplication is one of the building blocks for various things, such as convolutional neural networks, which are used, for example, in image classification or speech recognition.

My project is about increasing the computational speed while reducing the power consumption of such devices. Currently, my work is focused on the design and fabrication of a 2x4 multimode interferometer (MMI) that can be used for coherent resolving of an IQ modulation.
