Sommersemester 2013

Brain Inspired Computing (in englischer Sprache)

This is a 'first time' lecture in the context of our actual research and in particular in close relation to the recently approved Human Brain Project (HBP). It is suited for physics students on all levels with a good knowledge of mathematics (analysis, linear algebra) and of physics (electrodynamics in particular). The lecture is technically a so called MVSpec (whatever that means) and in case of success will provide you with 2 more points on your knowledge account ! To get them you will have to pass a written test during the last week of the summer term.

Scientifically, the course will adress some theoretical foundations of information processing, biological basics of the nervous system, models of cells and networks, some theories of neural information processing and finally methods to simulate and emulate such systems.
