Master Thesis:

Organic photovoltaic devices using conjugated polymers with thermally cleavable side chains

The performance of organic photovoltaic devices is often limited by the unfavorable morphology of the device active layer. Recently, a new class of conjugated polymers with thermally cleavable side chains was synthesised by the group of Dr. Manuel Hamburger, offering the capability to ‘freeze’ the morphology.

A successful candidate will explore the electrical, structural and optical properties of the new materials and investigate their photovoltaic performance in a single layer, bilayer and bulk heterojunction architectures.
