Aufgrund von Fairness hat die Fakultät beschlossen, dass alle Anmeldungen, die noch nicht von Dr. Falk oder Prof. Hausmann schriftlich bestätigt wurden, ab sofort über Heico erfolgen sollen:

Dazu bewerben Sie sich zunächst genrell um ein Pflichtseminar mit Präferenz zu diesem Seminar. Die Verteilung alles Studierende auf die Seminar erfolgt dann zentral. Wenn Sie dieses Seminar nicht als Pflichtseminar wählen wollen, melden Sie sich bitte auch auf Heico an; allerdings haben Sie nur dann eine Teilnahhme, wenn noch Plätze nach Verteilung der Pflichtseminarteilnehmer frei sind.

Diejenigen, denen bereits eine konkrete Zusage gemacht wurde, behalten natürlich alles was zugesagt wurde und sind bereits auf Heico zu diesem Seminar angemeldet.

 

 

In the interests of fairness, the faculty has decided that all registrations that have not yet been confirmed in writing by Dr Falk or Prof Hausmann should be made via Heico with immediate effect:

To do this, you must first apply for a compulsory seminar with a preference for this seminar. All students will then be allocated to the seminar centrally. If you do not wish to choose this seminar as a compulsory seminar, please also register on Heico; however, you will only be able to participate if there are still places available after the compulsory seminar participants have been allocated.

Those who have already been confirmed will of course keep everything that has been confirmed and are already registered for this seminar on Heico.

Das Seminar ergänzt die Vorlesung "Radiation Biophysics 1" im Bachelorstudium und kann als Pflichtseminar belegt werden (2 LP für den Inhalt + 1 LP für die Präsentation). Masterstudierende können das Seminar als Wahlbereich belegen.

The seminar complements the lecture "Radiation Biophysics 1" in the Bachelor´s programme and can be taken as a compulsory seminar (2 LP for the content + 1 LP for the presentation). Master students can take the seminar as an elective.

 

Content: Radiation biophysics is growing in importance, e.g., in the light of developing more efficient and safer radiotherapy, current situation in Ukraine, planned missions to Mars and other space missions, and increased risks of radioactive material misuse by terrorists. Despite this fact, radiation biophysics courses are offered at few German universities only. Radiation biophysics is extremely important also because the acquired knowledge will enable students to improve their expertise beyond core disciplines of physics, especially on the interface with biology. This multidisciplinarity not only refers to the scientific expertise in the field of radiation protection but will also allow students to better orient themselves in the current public information inaccuracy about the effects of ionizing radiation and nuclear threads. In public communication, it can prevent underestimation of potential risks but, on the other hand, also even more dangerous and unbridled radiophobia. This seminar further develops knowledge from the course "Introduction to Radiation Biophysics", however, previous completion of the said course is not a necessary prerequisite for this seminar. The seminar focuses more on a detailed discussion of interesting and current topics in radiation biophysics, as chosen by the students themselves, rather than on providing a comprehensive overview of contemporary radiation biophysics.
