Funding and Reimbursement

  • Funding
    This CryoCourse is organized by the European Microkelvin Platform (EMP), hosted by Heidelberg University and funded by the EC through Horizon2020.
     
  • Costs for accomodation and meals
    EMP will cover all costs for accomodation throughout the course and provide most of the necessary meals/beverages during the lecture week and during the working days at the CryoCourse. Additional costs, e.g. during the weekend at Heidelberg (17./18. Sep), will no be reimbursed.

     
  • Travel Reimbursement
    EMP covers travel costs from/to the CryoCourse (from your home institute). The requirement of economy must be observed by attendees, i.e. you should make sure that only reaonsably priced tickets are booked. If you are not sure, please contact us prior to booking. Attendance for the entire course is a mandatory prerequesit for reimbursement of travel costs. Costs exceeding 2500€ will not be reimbursed.
  • Arrival from Frankfurt Airport
    Please note that there are two big train stations "Frankfurt Airport" (right at the airport) and "Frankfurt Main Station" (in the city center), both provide trains to Heidelberg. The train station "Frankfurt Airport" is again sub-divided into two train-stations (one serving regional trains, one long-distance-trains). Make sure to find the right track for you train!
     
  • Deutsche Bahn offers "Super Spar Tickets" and Normal-prized tickets. Please note that the former ones require you to take a specific train. If you flight is delayed and you therefore miss the train, there is no option to get the refund ! Therefore, please buy normal-prized tickets that allow to switch the train on a given day.

Important Addresses

  • We will convene at the entrace to the Heidelberg Main Train Station on Sep 9th, 2022 at 3:30pm 
    • If your travel plans allow, please be 15-30min early.
    • The main entrace is close to where the taxi/cabs are located.

 

  • The hands-on course will take place at the Heidelberg University at the Kirchhoff-Institute for Physics.

  • The lecture week will be held at Neckarzimmern. Accomodation, Canteen as well as the lecture hall are all located at the venue:

    We will jointly travel from Heidelberg to Neckarzimmern. You do not need to organize this trip yourself or buy any tickets.

  • Posters
    Please bring printed posters. As we start the workshop with the lecture week, we won't be able to offer you poster printing opportunities at our campus beforehand.
